storytelling workshop
part of the Way With Words Festival 2021

Join poet Darren Randon, in partnership with Macmillan, for a light-hearted look at using writing and storytelling as a tool for wellness, whether you have personal experience of living with cancer or have a loved one who has.
On the day, we will talk about joy in the context of safe spaces, habits (good and bad) and food! No previous writing or storytelling experience required.
How does it work?
When does the workshop take place?
Saturday 5th June, 11am - 12.30pm, online via Zoom. There will be a short comfort break during the session to get the kettle on.
How often are the workshops?
This is a one-off workshop that is part of the Way With Words Festival, in partnership with Macmillan.
Who can take part?
The workshop is open to anyone who has been touched by the effects of cancer, whether you personally or someone you care about.
How do you attend?
Workshops take place online. You will need to have access to a computer or a tablet with an internet connection. We offer support with using video software if you haven’t used it before.
What happens in the workshops?
During the session, we'll explore ways of using writing and storytelling for wellness and discuss the theme of 'joy' in the context of safe spaces, habits (don't worry, we all have them!) and food!
Who runs the workshops?
The workshops are facilitated by Poet and Community Builder, Darren Randon from Well Versed Ink.
Do I need previous experience of writing?
No. You will be guided through ways of how to write your story in your own way. All you'll need is your favourite pen and notebook.
Who will be able to access my poems and stories?
The workshop facilitator, Darren, who will invite you to share them during the session.
